One Fall Day...

I love walking my dog, Nikky. She's a beautiful yellow lab that just loves to go out around sunset. What more could a photographer ask for! This fine day we went on a stroll near my studio in Old Town Temecula. I found this lovely display of Lupines behind the Old Town Temecula Community Theater. The sun was just right! I hope you find this image enjoyable, and be sure to enjoy your own evening strolls with the ones you love!

First week of fall...

It has finally cooled down a bit here in Temecula. We had a week or so of 105-110 degrees! The vineyards are showing the stress, and the harvest in in full swing. I took a walk the other evening and came upon this scenic view of the Palomar Mountains and this fine fall vineyard... I do hope you enjoy this! from the archives...

This is an image I took a few years back in Old Town Temecula. These two beautiful old cottonwood trees are on the bank of Murrieta Creek, which runs through Old Town. A client wanted to show this image to a friend, so I created this promo "poster". Feel free to pass this along to a friend of yours! You can contact me at: winecountryart@gmail.com

Fun in Los Gatos...

It was a pleasant stop at the winery and tasting room of Olympic Gold Medalist Peggy Fleming and her husband, Greg Jenkins. The Fleming Jenkins Vineyards and Winery in Old Town Los Gatos, California is a wonderful place to taste some great wine, and view some excellent photography. This pic was inspired by the photos that grace the walls of this quaint tasting room. If ever in Los Gatos, California, this is a stop you will enjoy. The wines are fantastic, and the staff very friendly.

Visit the Fleming Jenkins website here: The Fleming Jenkins Vineyards and Winery

Thanks!

Colors of Love...

This morning I am dabbling in photoshop a bit... I created this piece titled "The Colors of Love" based on a poem I wrote on New Years Day, 2007. Since I have not posted photos recently, and am about to embark on a 2 week photo Journey of Northern California and Oregon, I thought I would share this, until new work arrives next month. I hope you like it, and check soon for lots of cool new photography!

May your love be colorful, and heartfelt...

Enjoy,

Stephen

Colors of Love

Deep lilac and blue
The colors I first saw of you
Holding my heart
In deep lilac and blue

Pale golden yellow
Brings you back again
You are ever present
Held in pale golden yellow

Deepest red of the Heart
I feel you this moment
Our love painted in crimson
The deepest red of the Heart

These colors have come
In their purest form
Held within my highest self
These Colors of Love

A Perfect World...

Yes, I have the affliction...golf! And I was lucky enough to play last Thursday January 8th. It was a glorious afternoon, and we finished right at dusk. I have taken other pictures at the SCGA Golf Course in Murrieta, CA, but this one really says something to me. I have been fortunate to know the Director of Golf, Pat Kemball. He gave me a half hour lesson last summer that improved my game tremendously... an outstanding teacher to say the least. If you are ever in need of a great golf instructor, go see Pat.

Morning Mist ~ Santa Rosa Plateau, California

Taken around 8 am this morning, there was alot of mist surrounding the area after quite a little storm last night... I actually came to the Plateau looking for snow, but alas... only mist and reflecting ponds... Enjoy!

"Golden Harvest"

Late August is harvest time for the white wine grapes in the Temecula Valley. And since the harvest usually takes place in the cool of night, its hard to know just when the picking is done. I dont get very many opportunities to photograph the full clusters of these fine white varietals, but was lucky enough to find a small vineyard on Monte de Oro Road that still had these beautiful green grapes on the vine. I arrived at this particular vineyard with just a few moments of sun left on the horizon, and scrambled through this little vineyard to come away with this lovely picture bathed in golden sunlight. I hope you enjoy it! Feel free to drop me a line and let me know what you think...

I am blessed...

I was fortunate, last year, to have Marla and Rick Stier of Temecula, California visit my studio. From the first moment, Rick and Marla loved my work, and we had a connection that was truly authentic. After purchasing their limited edition "Peppertree and Vineyard", they returned a year later and, with Marla's intuitive touch, they put together a beautiful framed piece "Solitude" (Shown here with Marla and Rick) from my series "Santa Rosa Plateau". It was on this latest visit that I learned of Ricks passion: concert piano. Rick had just finished his debut recording "Piano Latte~ notes to nourish the soul". I have to say, this CD has been playing in my studio ever since! All I can say is, you have to hear it for your self. When I delivered "Solitude" to their lovely home, Rick sat down at his Steinway concert grand piano and sent shivers up my spine... an experience I'll never forget! I hope you find the time to visit their website: www.pianolatte.com you will be glad you did...

Wine Label Sunset

I've always wanted to do a wine label! Maybe this shot, taken last week would be a good one. "Twilight Cabernet" or "Chardonnay of the Sun". I'll keep taking the pics and maybe one day I'll have a label to share with you! I hope you enjoy this Temecula Valley evening sky, and all of my other images on my website: www.theFineArtofPhotography.com
