Morning Mist ~ Santa Rosa Plateau, California

Taken around 8 am this morning, there was alot of mist surrounding the area after quite a little storm last night... I actually came to the Plateau looking for snow, but alas... only mist and reflecting ponds... Enjoy!

"Golden Harvest"

Late August is harvest time for the white wine grapes in the Temecula Valley. And since the harvest usually takes place in the cool of night, its hard to know just when the picking is done. I dont get very many opportunities to photograph the full clusters of these fine white varietals, but was lucky enough to find a small vineyard on Monte de Oro Road that still had these beautiful green grapes on the vine. I arrived at this particular vineyard with just a few moments of sun left on the horizon, and scrambled through this little vineyard to come away with this lovely picture bathed in golden sunlight. I hope you enjoy it! Feel free to drop me a line and let me know what you think...

I am blessed...

I was fortunate, last year, to have Marla and Rick Stier of Temecula, California visit my studio. From the first moment, Rick and Marla loved my work, and we had a connection that was truly authentic. After purchasing their limited edition "Peppertree and Vineyard", they returned a year later and, with Marla's intuitive touch, they put together a beautiful framed piece "Solitude" (Shown here with Marla and Rick) from my series "Santa Rosa Plateau". It was on this latest visit that I learned of Ricks passion: concert piano. Rick had just finished his debut recording "Piano Latte~ notes to nourish the soul". I have to say, this CD has been playing in my studio ever since! All I can say is, you have to hear it for your self. When I delivered "Solitude" to their lovely home, Rick sat down at his Steinway concert grand piano and sent shivers up my spine... an experience I'll never forget! I hope you find the time to visit their website: www.pianolatte.com you will be glad you did...

Wine Label Sunset

I've always wanted to do a wine label! Maybe this shot, taken last week would be a good one. "Twilight Cabernet" or "Chardonnay of the Sun". I'll keep taking the pics and maybe one day I'll have a label to share with you! I hope you enjoy this Temecula Valley evening sky, and all of my other images on my website: www.theFineArtofPhotography.com

Wine Country Barn

Temecula Valley in the early 2oth century was a vast cattle region, and a few of its historical old barns still stand. This one is now a main visual attraction at the Maurice Carrie Winery in the heart of Temecula wine country. (Click on the image to see a larger version) I took this picture last week on a stroll through the vineyards. I hope you enjoy it! You can see more of my wine country landscapes on my website: www.theFineArtofPhotography.com or email me: winecountryart@gmail.com

Sign of the Times

Yesterday my wine country travels took me by the vineyards of Wiens Family Cellars.
I have to say that this winery is my favorite in the
Temecula wine country. Their wines are not only incredible, but the people who run it, The Wiens' and their staff are fantastic! (No, I don't work there, although I did show my art there last summer on Sundays and that's why I know they're great...) Stop by for an excellent Temecula wine experience! Spring Forward

I was surprised to see how quickly things change around here. A couple of weeks of nice weather and BAM! the vines are awakening. I guess it's time to get to work creating new spring imagery for the gallery! I hope you enjoy this pic taken in the Temecula wine country. The Palomar Mountains are in the background. The wild mustard is seen here, a sure sign of spring in the valley! I will be adding many new images in the days to come, so register to recieve my blog via email! ~Stephen

Beyond Wine...

About 70 miles east of the Temecula Valley wine country is our biggest state park; Anza Borrego State Park. I try to go to this beautiful desert park at least once a year, preferably in the spring when wildflowers and cactus blooms abound. I love this scene taken in the Coyote Canyon area of Anza Borrego. It reminds me of those old 50's postcards of the desert... a timeless destination! ~Stephen

Last Days of Winter

It sure feels like spring in the Temecula Valley wine country... The vines have been prunned back and are ready for longer days and maybe a spring shower! As I was photographing these yesterday, the owner of the vineyard stopped by to let me know these vines are 27 years old. The next few weeks should start to show new bud growth... another season arrives! Thank you all for your kind comments and continued support! "Barrel Tasting" Temecula Valley, California

This image was taken last summer at a winery in the Temecula Valley wine country. I originally wanted to use it as a black and white, but decided I like the warm tones and how the colors really take me there, almost smelling the oak and wine! I think this print would be nice in a wine cellar or above a wine bar. Framed in simple modern black, a large image that has impact, 30x40 inches or so.
All of my images are available for purchase, and you can contact me at:
